Peter Godfrey-Smith of Harvard University.

"The Evolution of Meaning"
ImageProfessor Godfrey-Smith's main research interests are in the philosophy of biology and the philosophy of mind. He also works on pragmatism (especially John Dewey), general philosophy of science, and some parts of metaphysics and epistemology. He has written three books, Complexity and the Function of Mind in Nature (Cambridge, 1996), Theory and Reality: An Introduction to the Philosophy of Science (Chicago, 2003), and Darwinian Populations and Natural Selection (Oxford, 2009).

Papers may be on any topic, but should be limited to 25 minutes reading time. Send papers or abstracts (500-750 words) by September 1, 2010 to:

There will be a Plenary Session on the morning of  Saturday the 16th devoted to the work of Peter Godfrey-Smith. Submissions on his work are especially enouraged.

Undergraduate Session Call for Papers
In conjunction with its annual conference, the Northern New England Philosophical Association will host sessions for undergraduates to share their work in a collaborative environment. Undergrads should submit completed papers of no more than 2500 words to Prof. David Banach by September 15, 2010.
